Speech of the Academic Officer Mr. Lewis Fernandes
The chief guest Dr. Juma, the guests of honor, Dr. Ismail Hosni, Dr. Sabiha and Dr. Faris, I thank you for having graced this occasion.
To you guests, ladies and gentlemen, I appreciate you presence, for you are the witness, in whose presence, these young and dynamic graduates can bask in their glory. Its, your interest in them, your say, that has nurtured and influenced them all along the way.
And to you, the graduates, congratulations!! As I have been saying, it indeed, is your day!
Allow me, to recollect!
For many of you who commenced, be it, the BBA or MBA program, did so, presuming it, as a easy, laid back week end program.
But over weeks and the months, and often the years that followed, you fathomed without disappointment, and I observed with appreciation, the efforts that went into the making of your course work. You went to take an ‘inch’ and had to give that ‘yard’. For those who have undergone the dual program, the journey has been even more demanding, especially, as that was the first batch, migrating from U.S. University to the Indian University.
But that has helped! You have been promoted, reallocated, become motivated, proactive and some even transformed. And the fact that that strikes me most; is that, many of you were comfortable, with decent jobs, some were Directors of companies, but you choose to travel that extra mile.
Amongst you is Dr. Gamal, a medical doctor and a senior manager who without reservation, submitted himself as a humble student. The same can be said of the young and very talented engineer Mr. Sachin Raje.
We have very senior mangers like Mr. Baldev with exposure in varied business function, Mr. Jamil with vast experience and Mr. Emad Mohammed with his quiet competence, who only appropriately contributed to the class, never spilling all over, their reservoir of knowledge and expertise. While the likes of Capt. Shama, Mr. Muhammed Afzal and Mr. Imad Omar radiated an aura of influence, candidates like Ms. Rehna Mr. Mahadevan and Mr. Dineshan inculcated an ambience of academia.
I often ask myself, and now I question you. What is the most important attribute that one should appreciate of a BBA or a MBA candidate? Is it state of his or her intelligence, the management or communication skills? To me! it is clearly, the degree of improvement in any and all the faculties. It’s the distance that you span from your original point A to that distant new point B.
Therefore I shower praises, with no hesitations upon Mr. Hujjat Ali, Mr. Lloyd Musquita, Mr. Mathew, Mr. Soni Nirav, Mr. Javeed Bharde and Ms. Wu Hong Zheng and many more..
Mr. Saif Mansor Sayed Mubarak, the director of Masters, who is not with us today, is for the past two years pursuing a doctorate program, based around "International Digial Government" at Central Queensland University in Sydney. His topic is "Methodology to integrate U.A.E eGovs with other eGov using cross-border eTransaction"
His message to you this evening is:
"Read and search from time to time and you will attain"
Self-discipline
Self-actualization and a
Sense of destiny"
This evening, myself and, the graduates whom I have been speaking to; want to remember and thank, a host of lecturer largely responsible for this day to blossom.
Dr. Heena the lecturer in HR field,
Ms. Zahida lecturer for Accounting and Finance
Dr. Prabhat lecturer for Information Technology
Dr. Sabiha, senior lecturer - HR and Marketing. Today, it is our privileged to invite her as a "Guest of Honor’.
Ms. Laxhmi,- Lecturer for Quality Management, has recently completed her Phd back home in her home town, and wishes you Graduates, ‘ All the success in your future endeavors"
Dr. Naveen kapoor, the marketing Guru, is on a short business trip and has insisted that I convey his wishes to you all.
Finally I remember the Pillars who facilitated your programs, Ms. Megha, Mr. Hiten, Ms. Depika and of late Ms. Aida.
Now! finding a congenial congenial atmosphere at Master’s has been, a "CUP of Tea", thanks to the grass root and sincere support of Mr. Lingum and Mr. Moosa.
Congratulation to You!( The Graduates)
Thank you to you all!
